23 Jun Coleridge Dancers Perform With Ballet Star
On Saturday 17th July, some lucky Year 4 and 5 children had the opportunity to perform with Fernando Montaño, a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet. The performance took place outside Hornsey Town Hall during the Latino inspired day of the Crouch End Festival, La Clave. Earlier in the term, Fernando had been into school to share his inspiring story.
The children performed Foot-ba, which combines moves from dance, football and famous goal celebrations. Foot-ba was a dance craze started by Fernando and performed by him and footballers at the last indoor football World Cup in Brazil. In order to learn the choreography, Jess Keen worked with a group of very dedicated children who practised during their lunchtimes. It was great to see them perform with Fernando and it was clear that they really enjoyed themselves!
