21 Sep Black History Month at Coleridge
The month of October is Black History Month in the UK, and teachers at Coleridge are planning a series of lessons, activities and assemblies to take place in October designed to explore this area of the curriculum.
Black History Month is marked annually, where recognising and valuing the inspirational individuals and events that have shaped the black generation takes precedence in the classroom. During Black History Month, we remember and celebrate the important people from the past and also those who contribute to and help our society today.
If you can offer any assistance or would like to help out in your child’s class during Black History Month, please speak to the class teacher, we welcome all offers! We would particularly like to welcome minority ethnic and non-British born parents to come into school to speak to the class or share information about their backgrounds.
