17 Jun Coleridge Choirs At Crouch End Festival
On Saturday 11th June, two Coleridge choirs appeared at Crouch End Festival. The first was the Friday Morning Choir, led by Janine Magnin and the second was our choir specially chosen to perform at the Royal Albert Hall. The Friday choir sang two songs brilliantly and were rewarded with fantastic applause.
Our Royal Albert Hall Choir is part of a massed group of primary and secondary choirs from several of our local schools, that will be performing at the Haringey Schools Music Festival later this month. They all sang beautifully. The children sang songs from a new song cycle written especially for the occasion, entitled, “One Small Bird”. The songs tell the story of the adventurous flight of this small bird (the red necked phalarope) from the Scottish island of Fetlar to the coast of Peru. Hearing the children sing was such a treat, even though they were slightly squashed on a small stage. We are now really looking forward to their performances at the Royal Albert Hall on the 27th June.
