17 Jun Help Us Win The Virtual London Youth Games
London Youth Games (LYG) have launched a Virtual Games and it will run for four consecutive weeks from the 8th of June. The LYG Virtual Games competition will give children and young people the chance to represent their boroughs in a series of sports related challenges that can be done at home, at school, or while out for daily exercise.
Three challenges will be released every week. Each challenge will relate to a different sport and will be set by a fellow young Londoner. The LYG Virtual Games are open to all children and young people from London, who will compete across 12 challenges to earn points for their borough. At the end of the four-week competition, a winning borough will be crowned champions of the Virtual Games.
We have been fortunate enough to represent Haringey at the LYG in the past and we would love to do so again in this competition. Therefore, we are asking for videos of your challenge attempts to be sent to ocreamer@coleridgeprimary.net. We ask your entry is sent by 4pm each Thursday with the child’s full name, class as well as the number of completed attempts per challenge. Please put the name of the challenge you are entering in the subject box and then the scores will then be inputted onto a scorecard and sent back to LYG.
LYG also want to see the children’s challenge attempts, so have asked you to share videos on social media using #ThisIsLYG for a chance to win their weekly Most Valuable Player award. Each week a MVP will be selected based on the ability, creativity and style shown in their video and they will receive a brand new pair of Nike trainers. Children must of course have parental permission before sharing any content with us or on social media.
Let us help Haringey become the first ever LYG Virtual Games champions. You can check the leader board on the LYG website at www.londonyouthgames.org/virtual-games – at time of writing we’re joint third with Camden!
