14 Jun Spectacular Science
On Wednesday 8th June, children from four other schools in Crouch End were invited to attend a morning of exciting science lectures and experiments here at Coleridge. Children from St Mary’s, Rokesley, St Gilda’s and St Aidan’s joined in with some of our own Year 5 students to watch an explosive chemistry demonstration by Dr Szydlo of Highgate School. The children then attended workshops lead by staff from Highgate and Coleridge in order to determine the calorie content of different party foods and to build a full scale working replica of the human circulatory system.
The morning was a huge success and provided a great opportunity for children at Coleridge to mix with other enthusiastic young scientists from across our Network Learning Community. Coleridge would like to thank all those children who attended, and especially staff from Highgate School for their involvement in planning and organising the day. The Science Team at Coleridge hope to organise more inter-school learning opportunities like this one in the very near future.
