15 Jul The end of a fantastic year!
The end of term always comes around quickly and this term has been no different. For the school it has been a busy but exceptional year and the school has gone from strength to strength.
One of the best pieces of advice that Mrs Boffey left me with, was how important it is to stay ahead of the game in education and to keep an eye on the future. I very much feel that as a school we have done that. The school has continued to strive forward and I feel extremely happy and proud with how we have dealt with a year of change.
The school has had a change of leadership and we have been really focusing on putting in new systems to help us function effectively as a four form primary school. There have been changes we have had to adapt to with a new curriculum; we have had to deal with life without National Curriculum levels. This year we have to say goodbye to some exceptional staff and have recruited new staff that we hope will have a happy time with us. Coleridge Families have been extremely successful with a mixture of new and old events, both social and educational. We have a new website which we hope will be launched very soon. And of course we have had a brilliant Ofsted report with the school receiving outstanding judgements in every single category –a true achievement.
However as an outstanding school there are challenges, we cannot and must not stand still. Next year we need to embed changes made this year, we need to look to how we adapt and function in a world where education budgets are tighter. As a four form entry school, communication and the personal touches are important, and we will be looking to evaluate how the school communicates with the whole school community.
There is a lot of work to be done, but as I’ve said all year, what make our task and responsibilities easier is the amazing staff team and governors that dedicate and inject so much energy and vibrancy into the school. And also you, the parent body, the support we receive from you all is outstanding and I thank you for it.
All that remains for me to say is for you all to enjoy the long summer break, and see you in September.
