Matilda Is A Hit

17 December 2024

This year’s play was truly a spectacular performance—a five-star production!

We were all so proud of what our children achieved throughout the week. Learning lines, learning dances and performing them so confidently and convincingly is no easy feat, but every child shone so brightly on stage.

Other headteachers I speak to are often amazed by what we accomplish with these productions—getting 820 children on stage three times over the course of a week and a half. They often ask, “Why do you put yourselves through it?”

The answer is simple: it’s because of what the play gives our children and what it enables them to do.

The play helps our children find their voice and feel confident enough to create positive change. It builds their confidence, teaches them to overcome fears and nerves, and shows them the value of perseverance. They also learn how to make a difference to one another through encouragement, support, and collaboration. These are vital life skills, and that’s why we do this every year.

I want to take this opportunity to thank every single parent who contributed to making this spectacular production possible. We couldn’t do it without you.

A special thanks also goes to our incredible staff team for their hard work, dedication, and the time and energy they put into bringing this together.
