Dress Code

Dress Code

Home > Parents > Dress Code

Children at Coleridge are allowed to attend school in their own choice of clothes.

No Uniform

We do not have a school uniform, and children are allowed to come to school in clothes of their choice. Clothing and footwear should be both school and season appropriate.

Children should not wear jewellery in school. If children have their ear pierced, they should wear studs only.

Early Years

In Nursery, we ask that children bring in a bag of spare clothes at the start of term, including underwear and socks. When your child first starts, we recommend supplying enough for three changes of clothes. These are in case your child has a toilet accident, or if they get wet or messy whilst playing. Please ensure you put your child’s name on their bag.

Nursery children should also bring appropriate outdoor clothing. We open our garden every day so please dress your child appropriately for the weather. Remember to bring a raincoat if it’s raining! Children should come to school wearing Velcro or slip-on shoes – please do not send your child in wearing shoes with laces if they cannot tie these themselves.

In Reception, we ask that children bring in one change of clothes, just in case. These can be brought in on their first day and left on your child’s peg.

PE Kit

Keep an eye on your the weekly timetables on your child’s Year Group page to see which days they will need to bring in a PE kit. This should include a pair of shorts and/or tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a t-shirt or vest, a sweatshirt or hoodie and suitable footwear. Children with long hair should also have it tied back and no jewellery should be worn (with the exception of stud earrings).

Coleridge Branded Clothing

Our Parent Staff Association, Coleridge Families, sell a wide range of branded school clothing, including T shirts, hoodies and hats, as well as other items such as bags and water bottles. All profits from the sale of these items help fund the work that we do at Coleridge, plus it’s great to see children proudly wearing our school logo in the playground!

Click here to visit the Coleridge Families Shop.

Name Labels

We recommend that any clothes, bags and water bottles that your child brings to school are labelled with their name, to avoid loss and confusion.

You can purchase name labels from www.stikins.co.uk – quote code 4779, and Coleridge Families get 30% commission.
