Forces Workshop Takes Off in Year 5

12 November 2024

As part of their new science topic, Forces, Year 5 participated in a science workshop led by Mr Strange. During the workshop, Mr Strange demonstrated the effects of gravity, air resistance, friction and thrust in a series of exciting practical experiments.

Year 5 learnt where and when these forces act, and how their effect can be reduced or increased. Based on their learning, Year 5 then made a series of design decisions to create a jet powered vehicle that Mr Strange piloted in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest teacher in a school hall! He was ultimately unsuccessful, but the workshop was great fun.
