Farewells
I want to take this opportunity to say farewell, good luck and bon voyage to those staff leaving Coleridge today. We are very privileged to have such a wonderful, warm and caring staff team. Mr Chamberlain is leaving us to take up a new teaching post outside London. Mr Shiel will be the new Deputy Head at Brookfield Primary School. Sissily is off to continue with her studies at university. Paula Kitt, who works in the school office, is setting up a new counselling practice. Miss MacKinnon is taking some time out of teaching to travel.
I am sure you will join me in thanking them all for everything they have done for the children and the school. They will be greatly missed.
Today we are also saying a fond farewell to our Year 6 children. We wish them all the very best at their new schools. On Wednesday, we celebrated the end of their time with us with a very emotional leavers assembly. In their assembly, they all spoke very fondly about their time at Coleridge. I think their feelings are best summed up by the words of Anna from Year 6…
“Coleridge is a family. When you walk through the door each morning you have a sense of joy, which lasts all day. It is almost impossible to feel lonely or sad here. My teachers and my friends have helped me reach my full potential, and any child should feel very lucky to be at Coleridge.
Goodbye Coleridge. We will miss you!”
On Wednesday, the Year 6 children played football against an all-star line up of staff! It was great fun and the children gave the staff team a good run for their money. There were a few aching bones and muscles the day after!
To all those of you who are leaving us today to begin time in new countries, towns, cities and schools – good luck with the next chapter of your lives! We will miss you!

Parent Hub – School Communication App
As you know, we are in the process of launching a new school communication app for parents and carers which will be launched in September. Please check your emails for details of how to download and log onto the app to your smart phone, ready for September. Once launched, you will be able to access information about the school, your child’s year group, their class and their learning. Teachers will also be able to communicate directly with you via the app. Coleridge Families (our PTA) will also be using the app to disseminate information about their events.
If you have not got a smart phone and do not wish to download the app, our school communication will default to your email address.
We will be sending more information out about the app at the start of the new term.
Returning to School
Everything you need to know about returning to school in September has been uploaded to the school website. You can access this information on the Back to School page of the website.
