Our classrooms are open to children from 8.50am, and school begins at 9am.
9.00am – 3.10pm
Total school week of 30.8hrs
9.00am – 3.15pm
Total school week of 31.25hrs
Children should not be left on the school premises before 8.50am. The children should be in the classroom, on the carpet ready for the school day to begin by 9am. The first half hour of the day is a very important time during which the teacher will introduce the day’s work. Being late will put a child at a great disadvantage. There is a morning playtime of 20 minutes. The school is part of the scheme run by the DfE where infant children receive a piece of fruit a day. Junior children can also bring a piece of fruit from home to eat during morning playtime. Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water which can be refilled at school and is available to them in the classroom throughout the day.
At the end of the day we ask that children are collected on time. It is distressing for a child, when everybody else has gone home, to be left at school. We understand that problems do arise, but if parents telephone us, we can reassure your child that you are on the way.
As part of our ongoing commitment to active travel and reducing our impact on the environment, a School Street is in operation on Haslemere and Waverly roads between 8.30 – 9.30am and 2.30 – 3.30pm each day. Only residents and disabled badge holders may enter or exit these streets by car during these times. We encourage everyone who can to walk, scoot or cycle to and from school.
We ask that dogs are not brought onto the school premises at morning drop off or afternoon pick up.
Children should not bring valuable items such as jewellery or mobile phones into school.
