The teaching week is 21 hours 40 minutes in the infant school and 22 hours and 30 minutes in the junior school.
9:00am – 12 noon
1:10pm – 3:10pm
9:00am – 12 noon
1:00pm – 3:15pm
Children should not be left on the school premises before 8.50am. In the junior school the bell sounds at 8.55am. The children should be in the classroom, on the carpet ready for the school day to begin by 9am. The first half hour of the day is a very important time during which the teacher will introduce the day’s work. Being late will put a child at a great disadvantage. There is a morning playtime of 20 minutes. The school is part of the scheme run by the DFE where infant children receive a piece of fruit a day. Junior children can also bring a piece of fruit from home to eat during morning playtime. Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water which can be refilled at school and is available to them in the classroom throughout the day.
At the end of the day we ask that children are collected on time. It is distressing for a child, when everybody else has gone home, to be left at school. We understand that problems do arise, but if parents telephone us, we can reassure your child that you are on the way.
The school requests that, for safety reasons, parents do not park on the yellow lines or adjacent to the barrier outside the school. Please use the Puffin crossing on Crouch End Hill. Please remember, when turning and reversing in the Crescent Road cul-de-sac, Haselmere Road and Waverly Road that there are dangers for unaccompanied children. In addition, we ask that dogs are not brought onto the school premises.
Children should not bring valuable items such as jewellery or mobile phones into school. We cannot accept responsibility for mobile phones.
