Rich texts, newspaper articles, drama, debate, podcasts, and video clips are all used to fire interest and enthusiasm in young writers, and to development a sense of ‘media literacy’ where children learn to question and critique all that they see and read. The complex grammatical and compositional aspects of writing are taught in a structured fashion using elements of Pie Corbett’s renowned ‘Talk 4 Writing’ programme, whilst children’s individual creativity and imagination is always the driving force behind any piece of writing.
