Head’s Welcome

Head’s Welcome

Home > About Us  > Introduction > Head’s Welcome

‘….Coleridge is an outstanding school with a passionate and big-hearted staff team.’

Coleridge is an exciting and nurturing school, we are proud of our school community. We offer a caring, creative and stimulating environment for all our children, staff and parents to learn together, grow and succeed.

We believe that children’s happiness and emotional wellbeing is vital and is the foundation for children to be able to thrive and contribute to society. We aim to give children positive initial experiences of learning and relationships, which will help to make them responsible, responsive citizens who appreciate the value of community.

Our core values underpin daily life. We teach our children to be creative ensuring that they are able to use their curiosity and imagination to solve problems. We also teach our children to be caring that they value the importance of looking after each other, our school and the environment. We also teach children to be resilient providing opportunities to for our children to learn how to overcome obstacles and learn from their experiences.

We have a passionate and big-hearted staff team who work hard to provide our children with a huge range of opportunities, carefully designed to spark their interests and enthusiasm, inspire them, and enable them to realise their full potential. Subsequently, children make excellent progress at Coleridge.

Walking around the school, it is impossible not to notice the inspirational artwork up on the walls, the happy sound of children’s voices and range of innovative learning taking place in our classrooms or outside in our Forest School area. In addition, you may bump into the display of the many trophies that our children have been awarded in sporting competitions. There is always an opportunity for every child to succeed, whatever their strengths and interests are.

Over the last decade, we have seen seismic changes to our local, national and global communities. However, because of our strong school community, rooted in in our school vision, we ensure we adapt, evolve and improve what we do, to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

I am very proud of Coleridge and very much hope that as you look through our website you understand why.
