Year 2 Visit Royal Albert Hall

At the end of last half term, Year 2 visited the Royal Albert Hall. On arrival, we were greeted by two real Victorians who were stuck in time – Lady Augusta and Mr Gant! They gave us a tour of the Hall and told us all about the History of the building. We sat in one of the boxes and looked out at the hall; looked inside the Royal Box and even saw the private toilet reserved for the Queen!

We learnt about why the Hall was built and found out lots of information about the lives of Victorian people. We even had the chance to dress up as Victorians ourselves. For those of us who were brave enough, we smelt inside a ‘stink box’ which recreated the smell Victorians would have smelt during the Great Stink.
