28 Jun Apps For Good – Winners!
We are proud to announce that Bea, Fizzy, Joss, Leila and Mia, succeeded in winning the public vote in the Apps For Good Awards. Their app ‘Changes’, aimed at giving children and teenagers clear, straightforward advice on puberty, proved extremely popular with the general public and gained thousands of votes to make them the clear winners.
The girls, all from 6I, were presented with an Apps For Good award at a glitzy ceremony in The Barbican Centre late on Monday Night (20th June). They then spent the following day appearing on various news channels to talk about their success. The girls also visited the head-quarters of a leading tech firm in order to begin the process of making their app a reality. If all goes smoothly, ‘Changes’ will be available for download by February 2017.
We are extremely proud of the girls for all their hard work and for the way in which they have conducted themselves throughout the competition. This is a truly remarkable achievement!
Bea, Fizzy, Joss, Leila and Mia would like to thank all of the people who voted for them, and especially Mr Ibbotson and Peter Bacon Darwin from Coleridge Families, for the extra time, energy and enthusiasm that they have invested in the project.
