07 Dec Coleridge Cookbook – Update
With all events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coleridge has created a cookbook in a socially-distanced effort to bring people together. Families and staff submitted their favourite recipes for collation by the PTA to raise some much-needed funds before Christmas, but the project has now exploded into a Crouch End-wide community activation, with 172 recipes flooding-in.
More than forty nationalities are represented in the recipes and in addition to the astonishing array of sweet and savoury food and drink ideas for all abilities and tastes, the colourful and weighty tome is something of a treasure trove of cultural insights and moving personal tales from a year of lockdowns efforts to stay connected to far-flung family and friends.
16 professional chefs and local ‘foodie’ businesses including Dunns, Nickel and the popular Crouch End Home Cooks facebook community have contributed recipes and donations to make the project happen, we’ve even got Simon Gerrard (MD of Martyn Gerrard)’s favourite biscuit recipe in there!
